Like the moon, our moon cycle duration is about 28-29 days.
Firstly, why does it happen? How come we have that strong emotions? As a reminder, the tides of the ocean change with every full moon and new moon. This is scientifically proved. Similarly, our water content is also affected. As our fluid quantity varies, so do our hormones, and emotions. Our body temperature increase and decrease, and guides our life desires. Women have more water in the bodies than men, and obviously, they don't bleed regularly, so their way to experience their body and life is different.
Imagine you can overcome these variations, and stay vaguely the same person when you wake up. To be stable no matter what. I have a few tips that may help you too:
As I say in my classes, EXHALE TO LET GO.
Try this out, seriously. Sighed out through the mouth with a gentle "ha" sound. Relax the body with the exhalation.
Slow down. Like often (if not always), practice Yin & Nidra. It's not my favorite to push myself, I don't see how with this pain in the body we can be our best to perform activities. For some women, and some cycles I still feel the need to spend energy, but most likely, it's the ideal moment to replenish. This is personal, but try to have more moments alone. I dive in my cocoon, sanctuary, and tap into creativity, inspiration and rest. I can write, draw, watch movies ( cry in front of them - Miraï my little sister, loved this japanese animation!).
To be in tune with the nature, I feel that the new moon is the perfect moment to set intentions. Have you tried writing ? Give yourself some attention. Time. Care. Love. Sit in silence, walk in the forest or just listen to your breath. Listen to your body who knows what is in your mind, in your heart. Find this little voice inside, called intuition, wise and strong. What does it say? What do you need? How do you want to be?
